The previous guide walked the app from a diner’s side. This one walks it from yours: the same five tabs, but the switches, the words and the campaigns behind them all live in two places you already know — the Builder’s Guest app tab and the Service floor’s scan rail. Nothing in the app is a default offer you didn’t choose: every module starts at the spec’s own sensible default, every campaign starts switched off, and the list of campaigns always shows what each one has actually cost so far.
Every campaign starts offBuilder → Guest app
Tap Rewards — one of the five tabs every guest gets the moment your site is live.
Five tabs, real data, nothing to switch on to get this far — Home, Rewards, My Card, Visit and Profile all exist the day you publish. What follows is what you can change.
- WHAT YOU NEED
- Ten minutes in the Builder — nothing else to buy
- TIME
- 8 minutes to read
- HOW HARD?
- Flip a few switches — campaigns start off until you choose
- CAN I BREAK IT?
- No — nothing goes live until you switch it on
IN PLAIN WORDS / TAP A TERM
What’s a “campaign” in the Guest App?
One of eight optional ways to reward a guest — a double-points window, a welcome bonus, a referral code, a coupon, a stamp card, a birthday reward, a triggered email or review routing. Every campaign you build starts switched off, and the list next to it always shows what it has actually cost so far.
What’s a “hold”?
When a guest redeems a reward — from their own account or scanned at the till — the points are set aside as a hold against their card rather than spent immediately. You mark it redeemed once you’ve handed the reward over, or release it to return the points.
What counts as “My Card”?
The guest’s own QR member card, shown on the My Card tab with a member number underneath. It refreshes every five minutes; staff scan it at the till the same way any loyalty card scans.
What does “starts switched off” mean?
Every campaign you build sits ready but inactive until you press its switch. Nothing reaches a guest and nothing is spent before you choose to turn it on — there is no default offer waiting behind the scenes.
The five tabs at /account
Every published TableSpark site carries the guest app at https://{your-slug}.tablespark.uk/account — the same address a diner already met in What your guests see. Once signed in, a guest gets a bar of five tabs, always in this order: Home, Rewards, My Card, Visit and Profile. On a restaurant with more than one location, that fourth tab relabels itself Locations automatically — nothing to rename yourself.
Home carries whatever tiles you have set for it (or a plain set of quick links to your menu and site if you have not), plus their upcoming bookings, recent orders and picks from your menu. Nothing on this tab needs switching on to appear; it is the one screen every guest sees the moment they sign in.
Rewards: points and progress
The Rewards tab shows a guest their running points balance, your restaurant’s own earn rate, and any rewards you have listed for redemption — the same points-per-£1 programme covered in Know your guests → Set up points and rewards. Layered on top of that base programme, this tab also surfaces whichever of the eight campaigns from step seven you have switched on: a stamp card’s progress dots, a live double-points window, or a note that a referral code is ready to share.
Rewards is one of three modules that are on by default for every new site — alongside My Card and Visit — so a guest sees this tab from the day you publish, even before you have added a single reward.
My Card: the member QR
My Card is a QR member card, scanned at the till the same way any loyalty card scans — a member number underneath the code, and a note that the code refreshes every five minutes, so a screenshot of it goes stale quickly on purpose. The words under the card are yours to write: one merchant put it plainly — “Show the card when you pay; staff scan it and your points post the same evening.”
Visit: address and hours
Visit states your address, your week’s opening hours day by day, and Directions and Call buttons — the same details your site already publishes, resurfaced where a guest who is already signed in will actually look for them. It is on by default, alongside Rewards and My Card, and its own tab label switches to Locations the moment a restaurant runs more than one site.
Profile: history and data
Profile holds a guest’s past visits, their gift cards — shown as real card faces with a masked number and balance, with a code-and-PIN box to add another — and their own details: name, phone, an optional birthday (the one a birthday-reward campaign checks for), delivery address, postcode and even a name-pronunciation note. A guest can save, export or ask you to delete every one of those fields from this same tab.
Switching it on in the Builder
Open the Builder’s Guest app tab for the controls behind everything above. Modules lists Rewards, My Card and Visit — on unless you switch them off — plus Coupons, Referral code and Tiers, which stay off until you choose them and unlock on Growth and Full. Home tiles lets you add up to eight of your own, each a title, a link and an optional photo; a tile can point at any page on your own site or your own https address, never at a delivery marketplace, so a tap from a guest’s own app never hands the relationship to somebody else’s app.
Your words is where you write the Home welcome line, the My Card explanation and a feedback email address, and Legal links points Terms and Privacy at the right pages. An owner or admin changes modules, tiles and links; an editor can still update the words and tile titles. Once you Publish, the panel states plainly where guests will see it: https://{your-slug}.tablespark.uk/account, with a running count of how many of your tiles are valid and will actually show.
Eight campaigns, all off by default
Below the modules, the same Guest app tab lists your Campaigns — a different tool from the one-off newsletter campaigns you send yourself. Every campaign here is optional, starts switched off, and the list states exactly what it has cost so far: points given, codes redeemed, guests reached, emails sent versus skipped for no consent. As you build one, the panel writes back a plain-English cost note — never a recommendation, just a reading of the numbers you typed — before you save it.
- Double points window — orders in a time window earn a multiple of your usual points.
- Welcome bonus — points once, the first time a guest joins.
- Referral code — each member gets a code; when a new guest uses it, both earn points.
- Coupon — a percent- or amount-off code a guest claims in the app and shows at the till.
- Stamp card — a card of your own size, stamped by staff at the till or automatically on fulfilled orders, paying points when it is full.
- Birthday reward — points once a year, only for guests who chose to add a birthday.
- Triggered email — your own words, sent automatically when something happens — joining, a full card, a birthday, a paid referral — only to guests who chose to hear from you.
- Review routing — after a completed order the app asks for a rating; high ratings go to your own public review link, lower ones come back to you privately.
Nothing on this list is a default offer waiting to activate. You pick a type, fill in your own numbers, and the campaign sits switched off until you turn it on — the same discipline the rest of the platform holds to: TableSpark advises what a choice will cost, and you choose.
Scan a card at the till
Open Scan on the Service floor’s rail for a sheet built for exactly this moment. Paste the code from a guest’s My Card, or use the camera to read the QR itself, and the sheet answers with their initials, member number and points balance in one pass. Underneath sit any stamp cards in progress, with a Stamp button for each; rewards they can afford right now; and rewards already held from their own account, each with a Redeem button that settles the hold and takes the points — the same holds tracked in Know your guests → Track members, holds and audited adjustments.
A separate field on the same sheet takes a coupon code a guest has claimed in their own app — type it in, and staff see the discount to apply along with any minimum spend, with the code marked used the moment it is checked.

Open the Guest app tab and switch one on
Every module and every campaign above lives in one place: the Builder’s Guest app tab. Nothing goes live until you choose it.
