On a £20 order that Just Eat delivers, the restaurant pays £7.20 in commission before a single ingredient, wage or bill is paid.1 The rate is the same on a full Saturday as on a quiet Tuesday.

What each platform takes

Why it does not add up

Your costs are already climbing

The National Living Wage rose to £12.71 an hour on 1 April 2026.9 Restaurant and hotel prices rose 3.8% in the year to September 2026,10 so guests are already paying more before any platform takes its share.

Why it does not add up

The sector has little room left

Accommodation and food service had the highest business insolvency rate of any sector in 2025: 268 per 10,000 businesses, a figure that includes hotels and pubs.11 Britain had 382 fewer licensed venues at the end of December 2025 than at the end of September.12

Why it does not add up

A few platforms, most of the market

In 2024 Uber Eats, Just Eat and Deliveroo handled 27.2%, 25.2% and 16.2% of UK delivery occasions.13 DoorDash completed its acquisition of Deliveroo on 2 October 2025.14 In our view, the fewer the owners, the less room a single restaurant has to negotiate.

  • Thin at both ends: Deliveroo’s profit for 2024 was £3 million, after a £32 million loss in 2023.15
  • Regulators have noticed: New York City caps delivery-app fees at 15% of each online order for delivery, with further caps of 5% and 3%.6 We are not aware of an equivalent cap in the UK.

Why a flat price works

You build it yourself

Photograph your menu and TableSpark drafts the whole site from it, with dishes, prices and sections, on one of 50 finished designs. No implementation team bills you for hours, so their cost is not in your price.

Why a flat price works

Published prices, no sales calls

Selling software is expensive: the median private software company spends 15% of its annual recurring revenue on selling.16 Our prices are on one page and you start free, so a sales team is not built into what you pay.

Why a flat price works

An extra order costs us almost nothing

Every restaurant runs on one shared platform, so an extra booking or order adds almost nothing to our costs and we do not charge for it. Card payments settle in your own Stripe account at Stripe’s standard rates.8

What we believe

Your guests are yours

Every booking, order and sign-up is recorded under your restaurant’s account, visible in your Inbox and guest list, and exportable as CSV whenever you like. With no commission to recover, the price on your own site can be the price in your dining room.

What we believe

Simple enough to learn between services

Every task is recorded click by click on a real restaurant’s account in the Tutorial, with short films beside the steps. A full Saturday costs what a quiet Tuesday costs, and the plan does not change with your takings.

Questions owners ask

What owners ask before they switch it on: how it works, which plan carries it, and what changes for the team.

Do I have to leave the delivery apps to use TableSpark?

No. You can start by moving your regulars, your collection orders and your table orders to your own site, where every order is at 0% TableSpark commission, and decide the rest at your own pace.

What does TableSpark take from an order?

Nothing. TableSpark charges a flat monthly plan and 0% TableSpark commission. Card payments settle in your own Stripe account, and Stripe’s standard card-processing fees apply to online payments.

Where do the platform figures come from?

From each platform’s own UK page for restaurants, quoted as published and checked on the date shown in the sources. If a platform changes its terms, the page it publishes is the one that counts.
